What is Bridgeland?

The Bridgeland community is an 11,400-acre master-planned community bordered to the north by Mallard Lake and Cypress Creek. It will ultimately offer an extensive lake and trail system that will connect residential villages, open areas and amenities via a series of bridges and trails.  Bridgeland is slated to have 4 villages, comprised of smaller communities, averaging approximately 500-600 homesites within each community.
 
Who is the developer of Bridgeland?
General Growth Properties, Inc., acquired the Bridgeland community through its merger with The Rouse Company in November of 2004. Together, GGP and Rouse bring a wealth of planning, dedication and experience to the table that will be used to create this vibrant new community.
 
When will the Bridgeland community begin selling homes?
Homebuilders have completed construction of their model homes, and all are ready for tours! New home construction is now underway and our 14 builders are now selling homes!  Additionally, custom home sites are available
 
When will the first homes be ready for residents to move in?
Our first residents moved into their new homes Summer 2006.  Home sales are brisk and guests will be pleased with the variety and price of homes available for immediate occupancy. 
 
Where will the model homes be located?
All 15 models, featuring the initial builder team, are located in the Model Home Park about 2 miles from the main entrance off of Fry road overlooking Shores Park.
 
Has the first Village within the Bridgeland community been named? What can you tell me about it?  Yes, Lakeland Village is the first village in Bridgeland and will include several communities.  The Shores is the first village offering nearly 600 homes in 10 separate neighborhoods on almost 200 acres.  The Shores is surrounded by water and open space.  First Bend is the next community selling home sites.  Lakeland Activity Center a 6 acre activity and swimming complex is open and includes a 6000 sf Community Center and full time Activities Director.  The Cove in Lakeland Village just west of The Shores is scheduled to begin sales in early 2008.

What will the homeowner assessment fees be?
$825 annually
 
Which home builders will build in the Bridgeland community and what will be the price ranges for the first homes?
 We currently work with 14 of Houston's leading builders, 3 of which are custom builders.  Guests will find home prices starting in the $190's to over $1 million.  As Bridgeland matures a wide variety of home styles will be available.  Please refer to the New Home Search Page of our website for a listing of our initial builder team and price ranges.
 
Will Bridgeland offer condominiums, townhomes and apartments?
The Bridgeland community will eventually offer various housing options.  Visit our New Home Search page for additional information about our various communities and home styles.
 
How many people will ultimately live in the Bridgeland community?
Upon completion, approximately 65,000 people will live here in 21,000 homes.
 
How long will it take to finish building the Bridgeland community?
It is estimated that the Bridgeland community will be completed in 2029.
 
What schools will children who live in the Bridgeland community attend?
Children living in the first phases of the Bridgeland community will attend schools in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.
