Connectivity and convenience play an important role in the planning of Bridgeland. Four distinct Villages will subdivide Bridgeland. The first is Lakeland Village, featuring multiple communities including The Shores, First Bend, (now open) The Cove (sales begin 2008) and Lakeland Heights (sales begin late in 2008). Future villages include Parkland Village, Prairieland Village and Creekland Village.
You can experience Bridgeland village life by simply entering and driving the 2+ miles of open space and tranquil waters along North Bridgeland Lake Parkway. You won't be greeted by rows of housing so take a deep breath as you cruise along the shoreline and enjoy the throngs of water fowl enjoying their new home. You’ll see families cycling along the bike trails or walking their dogs to the neighborhood parks for a game of fetch. You’ll hear tickled screams of children as they splash around at the fabulous new water park, Lakeland Activity Center connected to neighborhoods by paved trails. You are only minutes from shopping, worship and restaurants. Bridgeland is about a life of balance.
If you are shopping for a new home, Lakeland Village will offer housing with a wide range of prices, styles and densities, from conventional neighborhoods priced from the $180s, to custom home designs priced from the high $600s to more than $1 million, as well as an exciting “new urbanism” project whose first phase is planned to open in 2008.
Homes in The Shores, First Bend and the Cove were designed with these thoughtful distinctions:
- Roadways are designed so meandering lakes and landscaped open space welcome drivers at every turn.
- The land plan transformed necessary infrastructure, such as trapezoidal drainage ditches and easements, into attractive and functional amenities such as trails and waterways.
- While Bridgeland has well-defined borders, residents will never find long stretches of fencing with homes backing to busy thoroughfares.
- Bridgeland has sacrificed land to offer lakes with natural meandering shorelines instead of cement-edged detention ponds.
- Bridgeland has buried all power lines in the first phase to enhance views.
- Border-to-border trails will link pedestrian and bicycle traffic to various villages, village centers and activity centers. Exercise trails with fitness stations will wind throughout the development, as will nature trails along waterways and creeks.
- Lakeland Activity Center is now open and offers the first residents of Bridgeland arguably one of the best resort style facilities in the city. Encompassing more than six acres and located adjacent to Lake Bridgeland, it will feature a 6000-square-foot. Community center and be home to a full-time Activities Director, who will plan year-round events for residents. The building will house a fitness center as well as multiple classrooms, a small kitchen and meeting rooms for intimate gatherings and receptions.
- The Bridgeland community is the nation’s first master-planned community to deliver landmark fiber-to-the-premises services to all residents.
- Homes feature elevated lots with brick, stone and timber materials with brick terraced front walkways, a characteristic of historic Houston architecture
- Bridgeland has conceptualized shopping hubs within the community while avoiding unattractive retail strip centers.
Bridgeland is an exceptional development and offers a lifestyle rarely found in today's master planned communities. Visit our Welcome Center and experience first hand how you can find a life of balance in Bridgeland.
