The Bridgeland community is the first master-planned community in Houston to deliver AT&T’s landmark U-Verse suite of services to all residents. This comprehensive package includes integrated digital TV and high-speed Internet services through fiber optics direct to the home.

U-Verse offers an array of available packages, with features including 300 TV channels with more than 25 high-definition options that deliver rich, realistic video and multi-channel, movie-theater sound quality. Also available is the ability to record up to four programs simultaneously using digital video recorder technology that can be scheduled remotely through a customer’s AT&T Yahoo! Internet account. Built-in picture-in-picture functionality and the ability to search for shows using a program title or an actor’s name allow residents to easily find their favorites.

Through the AT&T Yahoo! high-speed Internet options, residents can download items up to 6.0 Mbps. All U-Verse packages include wireless home networking, offering the ability to access the Internet using a wireless-enabled laptop or other device.

The first Bridgeland model homes are now open and feature the U-Verse product for prospective home buyers to preview.

Bringing fiber-optic telecommunications to the home will make life in Bridgeland a great marriage of nature and technology, said Joe Necker, vice president of development for General Growth Properties, developer of Bridgeland. Residents will be able to connect to schools and neighbors via tree-lined walking trails while connecting to the globe via an electronic broadband pipeline with enormous technological potential for communication, entertainment and Web access. This Internet protocol television will give Bridgeland residents the most advanced technology available for obtaining information and entertainment.

In addition to state-of-the-art technology for its residents, the Bridgeland lifestyle embraces natural benefits, too. More than 3,000 acres of the 10,000-acre master plan are devoted to waterways, lakes, trails, parks and open space. Sixty miles of trails will connect distinct neighborhoods with amenities, and a future Town Center. Opening this year, the first phase of a six-mile scenic trail along the historic Cypress Creek Corridor will let hikers glimpse some of the 140 species of birds already identified in the area.
