Three of Houston’s most prestigious custom builders are now showcasing designs in The Reserve at First Bend, an elite gated enclave within Bridgeland, a 10,000-acre master-planned community in Cypress.

Each of the 27 homesites in The Reserve is surrounded by water, and a lake at the heart of the neighborhood is a dramatic focal point. Each home is designed to maximize the spectacular waterside panorama, said Peter Houghton, general manager of Bridgeland.

Builders Tommy Bailey Homes, Ronny Carroll Custom Homes and Masterpiece Homes will offer custom designs priced from the high $600,000s to more than $1 million in Bridgeland’s new First Bend neighborhood.

Offering more than 100 years of combined experience delivering custom homes in Houston, the three builders are well respected in the area and an asset to Bridgeland, said Houghton.

Tommy Bailey has built more than 1,200 custom homes in the Houston area during his 37-year career. A hands-on approach and attention to detail has made him a popular choice among upscale communities, He has built homes in more than 20 neighborhoods and crafted showcase homes that have won numerous awards. Named Custom Home Builder of the Year by the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) in 2000, Bailey recently won the Texas Association of Builders’ prestigious Star Award for Best Custom Home priced over $2 million.

Another long-time builder, Ronny Carroll Custom Homes, has been constructing homes in the area for more than 30 years. Award-winning floor plans and careful attention from inception to completion have created a faithful following for Carroll. The company’s 10-year limited home warranty is both evidence of the builder’s confidence in his homes’ quality and a promise to his clients. Ronny Carroll Custom Homes was named GHBA Builder of the Year in 2001.

Rigorous construction standards and the day-to-day involvement of all three partners distinguish Masterpiece Custom Builders, which has been active in the Houston area for more than 30 years. Customer satisfaction and careful selection of communities has allowed Masterpiece to develop a loyal contingent of satisfied clients. Among its many awards, Masterpiece has been named Bay Area Builder of the Year.

John Broadfoot of Prudential Gary Greene Realtors has established a partnership with Bridgeland to become the on-site selling agent at the community’s custom home sales office. A Realtor since 1995, Broadfoot has more than 25 years of experience in the building materials industry. He is a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, a nationwide organization of million-dollar-home selling agents.

Residents of The Reserve will enjoy all Bridgeland amenities, with the first recreation complex opening soon. The six-acre Lakeland Activity Center includes a 6,000-square-foot community center, two 30-foot sky slides, an Olympic-size pool with diving well, splash pads and play areas. Grand opening festivities are set for the summer.

Also opening this year is the first phase of Cypress Creek Trail, a six-mile scenic trail system bordered by the historic Cypress Creek Corridor. The pathway will wind through a canopy of trees and include environmental signage and several natural observation sites for bird watching or simply enjoying the serenity of the area.

Bridgeland is a development of General Growth Properties, Inc., the second-largest U.S.-based publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) in the nation. As owner of Bridgeland and majority owner of The Woodlands, General Growth Properties is one of the largest master-planned community developers in the Houston area.
