One of the Bridgeland community’s most noticeable differences is also an avenue of fun for residents: Naturally sloping shore-lined lakes, landscaped lake trails and waterways take the place of trapezoidal drainage ditches and cement-lined detention ponds found in other developments.
The 11,400-acre Bridgeland master plan devotes 3,000 acres to the conservation of open space, 900 acres of which are lakes with more than 60 miles of interconnecting trails. More than 200 acres of lakes and meandering waterways are in Bridgeland’s first phase of development, offering not only leisure activities but picturesque vistas, with homesites throughout the community designed to maximize water views.
