The master-planned community is devoting 3,000 acres to open space, with more than 900 acres of lakes and waterways planned. Already open is one of four planned recreation centers, the Lakeland Activity Center, which includes a resort-style pool, two 30-foot tower slides, diving wells, water volleyball and a spray park.
