Lakeland Heights offers new homes and new home sites from many of Houston's top builders.

Lakeland Heights

Lakeland Heights will feature single-family homes and townhomes from David Weekley HomesBridgeland is pleased to announce the long-awaited opening of Lakeland Heights, a walkable Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) where Main Street-style housing blends with shops, parks, restaurants and services, all following guidelines meticulously detailed in a pattern book by architectural powerhouse Looney Ricks Kiss that provides a comprehensive picture of how the TND will look and function.

Lakeland Heights is a place where friendships will begin at the sidewalk café or along the scenic waterway trail and continue on the front porch. The land planners extensively researched traditional Houston neighborhoods, including West University Place, The Heights, Southampton and Southside Place, for architectural inspiration. Planned for 600 homes, Lakeland Heights will incorporate Craftsman, English Tudor, Classical and French housing styles found in those neighborhoods to heighten curb appeal. Homes will appear to have evolved over time. David Weekley Homes is the exclusive homebuilder in Lakeland Heights based on the company's experience building in TND communities and its design expertise. The builder has completed 10 unique home designs priced from the $160,000s to $300,000s. Only a limited number of homesites have been released for this spring.

Homes' exterior cladding will be brick, stucco or wood. Set behind the homes, garages are accessed via private rear lanes. Streetlights are reminiscent of those in River Oaks and other historic neighborhoods. A highlight will be Lakeland Heights' half-mile waterway, featuring a landmark bridge, trails, creatively landscaped park space and seating areas.

Many of the first homesites will face the waterway or a neighborhood park, and schools, churches and the Lakeland Village Center - a market square with shopping, services and dining - will be within walking distance. Also in walking distance is the Lakeland Activity Center, with an aquatic complex, tennis, boating and a 6,000-square-foot Community Center. Gathering spots in Lakeland Heights will include Festival Park, with a covered pavilion, and Central Park, which will include two acres of green space, an open play area and a formal garden. The three-acre Rabbit Run will have active open space and is across the street from the Lakeland Activity Center. Additional parks are being planned for the future development of Lakeland Heights.
