Posted on Jul 01, 2008 | Tagged in: Untagged

This summer, two hundred enthusiastic volunteers will support the cause of providing affordable housing to families in need. Beginning June 18, youth from local churches, schools and community groups started building birdhouses that will be sold to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County.

The sale of the 200 birdhouses will take place at Nature Fest, a two-day celebration of nature and conservation to be held September 27-28 at Bridgeland, General Growth Properties’ 11,400-acre master-planned community in Cypress, Texas. The first annual Nature Fest will commemorate the grand opening of the initial 1.5-mile section of the Cypress Creek Nature Trail, set along the historic Cypress Creek Corridor, a 1,000-acre nature area and creek system bordering the northern edge of the Bridgeland community.
