Basking on the banks of over 300 acres of lakes and meandering waterways in the first phase of development, residents of Bridgeland enjoy not only picturesque views of tranquil water from their home, but also spend their leisure time playing on the water. Upon completion, Bridgeland will offer more than 900 acres of lakes for residents to enjoy.
On warm summer days, residents can jump into canoes and kayaks on one of the many lakes and waterways throughout the community, or take a ride around the activity center on paddle boats.
Parents can teach their children how to reel in "the big one" at the catch-and-release lakes around the property. The lakes were stocked in 2007 with nearly 300,000 fish including catfish, blue cat, brim and spotted bass.
Where other communities may offer trapezoidal drainage ditches and cement-lined detention ponds, Bridgeland has chosen to enhance the landscape by developing natural, sloping shore-lined lakes, landscaped lake trails and waterways.

Cypress Lake is an excellent example of the thoughtful design that has gone into planning the community of Bridgeland and features vast shore lines and open space. You won’t find homes crowded along the edge. It is not surrounded by concrete or adorned with mechanical fountains. Cypress Lake offers a natural shore and is home to flocks of colorful birds gliding gracefully across its waters.
