LAKES & WATERWAYS
Basking on the banks of nearly 200 acres of lakes and meandering waterways in the first phase of development, residents of Bridgeland not only enjoy picturesque views of tranquil water from their home but will also spend their leisure time playing on the water. On warm summer days, residents can jump into their canoes and kayaks on one of the many lakes and waterways throughout the community, or take a ride around the activity centers on paddle boats. Fathers can teach their children how to reel in "the big one" at the catch-and-release lakes around the property. The lakes were stocked in 2007 with nearly 300,000 fish including catfish, blue cat, brim and spotted bass. Where other communities will offer trapezoidal drainage ditches and cement lined detention ponds, Bridgeland has chosen to enhance the landscape by developing natural sloping shore lined lakes, landscaped lake trails and waterways. Enter Bridgeland off of Fry road and you immediately see water to your left and right. You are not greeted by neighborhood entrances with crowded housing.
