Named “Best Welcome Center” during the Sept. 28 Sunbelt Builders Show 2007 Star Awards gala, the Bridgeland community’s state-of-the-art Welcome Center truly is setting the standard for master-planned developments.

The Cypress-area development also took top honors for its “Find Balance” billboard campaign, winning “Best Developer Billboard,” and was a finalist in three other categories: radio commercial, special promotion and sales brochure.

Bridgeland, an 11,400-acre master-planned community near Cypress, Texas, was recognized on Monday, Oct, 15, 2007, by the North Harris Montgomery Community College District for its commitment to higher education. Bridgeland has initiated an endowment fund that will provide scholarships for full-time students who are Bridgeland residents to attend Cy-Fair College. Over a period of several years, Bridgeland will contribute funds to create a $15,000 endowment, the proceeds from which will provide funding for the scholarships. At the donor reception, a plaque was presented to Bridgeland in honor of its contribution. Bridgeland plans to set up similar endowments at other colleges, helping to provide additional educational opportunities for Bridgeland residents.

Education plays an important role in the development of the Bridgeland community, with a comprehensive education plan that includes a multitude of school sites within community borders, including acreage for six public elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. As the Bridgeland community matures, parents will have a choice of licensed preschool and childcare facilities, as well as private schools and facilities to meet special education needs. Already, several highly accredited private facilities are within a short distance of the development.

Prospective buyers can learn about more than two dozen ready or nealy homes in Bridgeland during Discovery Weekend, set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.

In addition to home shopping, visitors will have a chance to win two $500 General Growth Properties mall gift cards, with one awarded each day during Discovery Weekend. Plus, visitors touring three community highlights – the Welcome Center, Lakeland Activity Center and the model home park – will receive one $20 gas card per family. Refreshments also will be served.
