Bridgeland Difference Number 1

Posted | Tagged in: lifestyle , builders

In the Bridgeland community, 3,000 acres of open space means residents can really enjoy the great outdoors, both the ambiance it provides and the activities made possible through an abundance of lakes, trails, parks and more.

And that extent of open space — more than 25 percent of the community’s total 11,400 acres — puts it as No. 1 on Bridgeland’s inventory of thoughtful features of the community — the “Bridgeland Differences” — a list that highlights such amenities as an education plan serving preschoolers to adults, fiber optic technology and underground power lines.

Bridgeland Posts Record Sales in July

Nationally and locally, the housing market is showing signs of life and the northwest Houston community of Bridgeland is positively bustling with 35 homes sales recorded during July — the highest monthly total of the year and the second highest monthly total since the development opened.

“With a mix of low interest rates and low new home prices — both expected to start climbing soon — the time is certainly right to buy,” said Peter Houghton, Bridgeland’s vice president of master-planned communities. “But even with that encouraging environment combined with all Bridgeland has to offer — many innovative amenities, a thoughtful master plan and a diverse selection of housing choices — it is still amazing to see our second highest monthly sales total since inception in today’s housing market.”

Nature Fest 2009

From birds of prey to frisbee-catching canines, Bridgeland’s second annual Nature Fest promises to be one wild adventure for children and adults.

Free and open to the public, the event takes place Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Bridgeland’s Oak Meadow Park. Foot-tapping music, the Houston ZooMobile and Birds of Prey, an educational program with live hawks and owls, will entertain families, as will a frisky performance by the Houston Canine Frisbee Disc Club. A food concession area will keep hunger at bay. Plus, a section of the park will be designated as the American Heart Association’s Recess Rocks Play Area, where kids can climb a rock wall, swing, slip down slides and participate in other activities. The American Heart Association recognizes the entire month of September as Go Healthy Month, which encourages kids to stay healthy through regular, active play.

With a master plan that boasts four distinct villages, varied home choices and a host of different amenities, there will be one unifying factor — the Bridgeland community’s 60 miles of trails.

The trails will connect Bridgeland’s many neighborhoods, parks and recreation centers, putting all the community has to offer within easy reach. Miles of trails — from pedestrian pathways to nature trails — are already open, with many more planned.

Bridgeland’s one-of-a-kind model home park — Bridgeland Difference No. 12 — exemplifies home shopping made easy, with 12 models located in one central location.

The community offers more than 200 designs priced from the $180,000s to more than $1 million from a slate of well-known Houston builders: David Weekley Homes, Darling Homes, Highland Homes, Meritage Homes, Village Builders, Wilshire Homes, Perry Homes, Partners in Building and Trendmaker Homes. Custom craftsmen include Ronny Carroll Custom Homes, Tommy Bailey Homes, and Masterpiece Custom Builders.

Earlier this year, national industry experts affirmed what many Houstonians have known for a while — the Bridgeland community is a great place to live.

The development was named Master-Planned Community of the Year in The Nationals 2009 Gold awards, topping both national and international entrants.

Home buyers interested in upscale homes will want to visit the award-winning Bridgeland community, which has four move-in ready custom homes in The Reserve at First Bend, all at reduced prices.

The Reserve is an elite gated enclave requiring key card entry for vehicular traffic, as well as access to its lake trail. With only 27 homesites, each backing to one of three lakes in the neighborhood, The Reserve features the designs of custom craftsmen Ronny Carroll Custom Homes, Tommy Bailey Homes and Masterpiece Custom Builders.

For residents of the northwest Houston community of Bridgeland, the choices are endless.

Bridgeland offers an innovative amenity palette, including sailing and paddle boating on Lake Bridgeland, disc golf, a lakeside maze garden park, catch-and-release fishing and much more.

With trails, boating, swimming, disc golf and events including concerts in the park, the northwest Houston community of Bridgeland offers a multitude of opportunities to get outside.

The master-planned community is devoting 3,000 acres to open space, with more than 900 acres of lakes and waterways planned. Already, more than 200 acres of lakes are in place and were stocked several years ago with more than 200,000 fish for catch-and-release fishing. Residents also can get on the water, with complimentary use of non-motorized boats, including canoes, kayaks and sailboats.

Bridgeland sparks buyer interest

There have always been powerful reasons to buy a new home in the northwest Houston community of Bridgeland — underground power lines, a broad mix of amenities and a very active events calendar, not to mention the fact that the National Association of Home Builders has named it “Master-Planned Community of the Year.”

Part of Bridgeland’s “Power to the People” summer home tour, the promotion spotlights more than 40 homes available for immediate move-in; more than 30 of those completed homes from participating builders are on the tour. Anyone purchasing a home in Bridgeland during July will receive a full year’s discount on electricity (up to $3,600) from their Energy Star-certified builder.
