Pools and parks are the focal points of nearly all of today’s master-planned communities. But while many developments end their amenity list with pools and parks, the Bridgeland community’s list starts there and continues on to offer an eclectic mix of fun for all ages.
Bridgeland residents enjoy a variety of active and passive pursuits, many embracing the area’s natural landscape. Anglers can try to land the “big one” at one of Bridgeland’s lakes, stocked a year ago with more than 200,000 fish. In addition to catch-and-release fishing, residents can also enjoy boating on Lake Bridgeland, with paddleboats available for their use.
Nestled along the shores of another community lake is Oak Meadow Park, home to the first disc golf course in northwest Houston. Disc golf follows the basic rules of traditional golf, with players throwing special discs toward a target in an effort to reach the target with as few throws as possible. The 10-acre course offers 18 holes of challenging play, with three tee-offs for players of varying skill levels and throw lines crossing water and contoured with old-growth trees.
