Are you focused on healthier habits this year, like working out more regularly? Living in Bridgeland makes keeping those resolutions easy. The development is designed around living well by purposefully incorporating ways for residents to maintain a healthy lifestyle, both indoors and out.
With the recent grand opening of Dragonfly Park, there are now two activity centers for Lakeland and Parkland Village residents to choose between. These contemporary gym spaces provide an array of exercise equipment for those wanting to improve their health and maintain their physique.
The fitness facility at Lakeland Activity Center was recently enlarged and includes bicycles, stair steppers, treadmills, free weights and class space for those who prefer to exercise in a group. Located within Dragonfly Park, a large gym surrounded by windows provides an assortment of machines that focus on different muscle groups. There is plenty of open space for stretching and a separate storage space housing additional equipment from bands and mats, to kettles and balance balls. Parents with little ones can monitor them through a glass enclosure while they play in a space that’s outfitted with toys and games.
Separate rooms are used for yoga and pilates classes or on-demand exercise videos for practicing on your own. In the coming years, the two remaining villages will offer their own unique activity centers and more opportunities for staying healthy.
Our community brings balance to daily lives by providing ample outdoor recreational opportunities, too. The 3,000 acres dedicated to lakes, parks, trails and open space just might be a nature lover’s dream come true. You’ll find outdoor tennis and basketball courts for vigorous activities to the more sublime activities like canoeing and kayaking. Our expansive trail system connects 250 miles of trails and preserved nature corridors. House Hahl Trail and opening later this year, Parkland Common, are two trails that include fitness stations for circuit training along their routes.
Other options for staying fit include three fitness facilities conveniently located in Lakeland Village Center. A fitness crawl was held on Jan. 25 and was hosted by F45, 9Round and Shaka Power Yoga, in conjunction with Bridgeland, and offered guests the chance to experience what each of these facilities offers. Because of their close proximity, it makes it easy to fit a workout into your daily routine. Dining at one of the restaurants in Lakeland Village Center makes nourishing your body with fresh healthy choices convenient, too.
Additional community groups like the mountain bike club, disc golf club, Bridgeland Barracudas Swim Team, and the Canoe and Kayak Club offer exercise options in a social, sometimes competitive setting. The community also hosts two running races and one triathlon, annually.
Whether you prefer to hit the trail or the treadmill, Bridgeland offers many ways for you to stay on track with your fitness regimen in the new year.
