Hi everyone!

Last week, my family and I attended the 10th annual Howl-O-Ween Fest at the Bridgeland master planned community in Cypress, Texas. It was our first time going, and Jayden had so much fun especially since we got to bring Rotel, his best furry friend. It’s one of the biggest pet-friendly Houston events for Halloween for the whole family with tons of games, food trucks, and even a costume contest. Jayden and Rotel went as Batman and Superman! While we were there, we even got to tour some of the model homes in the community. Our family is looking to build a new home next year and hopefully expand our family. We absolutely fell in love with the homes in Bridgeland. In fact, I think we might have even found our dream home! If you are looking at new homes in Houston for your family, here are seven reasons the Bridgeland community is the perfect pet-friendly master planned community for your family.

8 Reasons Why Bridgeland is the Pet Friendly Masterplanned Community

1. Open Space

Did you know the Bridgeland development chose to devote 3,000 acres to open space to provide a place for both residents and wildlife to thrive? They wanted to make sure to protect, preserve and restore the natural environment within Bridgeland’s boundaries. In fact, there are over 900 acres of lakes for outdoor activities, such as fishing and canoeing. With this open space, you will never feel crowded or boxed in in your community.

2. Walking Trails

Currently Bridgeland has over 60 miles of scenic interconnecting trails, so you and your family will have plenty of space to go on family walks with your dog. Bridgeland also has conveniently placed pet-friendly water fountains located near the parks.

3. Plenty of Home Options

Bridgeland offers eighteen of the most well-respected new home builders in Houston. From Coventry Homes to the gorgeous Darling Homes photographed here to my personal favorite, Westin Homes, there are plenty of home designs to choose from. Prices range from the $240s to $1 million+, so there’s a home for your budget and lifestyle. Whether it’s a home for you and your furry friend or a full house of five, there is something for everyone.

4. Easy access to main roads

One of the things I love about Bridgeland is that it’s close to the 99 toll road and Highway 290. It makes for easy access to Houston and surrounding areas and even Austin or College Station for a road trip.

5. Accessible shopping

Need a place to shop? You are in luck, because Houston Premium Outlets are just minutes away for great shopping. Walking distance from Lakeland Heights is Lakeland Village Center, the first of four village centers planned in Bridgeland. Each one will have shopping, dining and entertainment options that reflects each village’s own unique character and charm. Next to be built is Parkland Village Center. It’ll be a hub of activity for the community.

7. Great school districts

Three highly acclaimed public school districts will eventually service Bridgeland: Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, Katy Independent School District and Waller Independent School District. Cy-Fair ISD recently constructed a 127-acre educational village located near the Grand Parkway. This new campus boasts nearly 1-million square feet of learning space for at least 5,912 students and includes 4-story Bridgeland High School, a future 3-story middle school, and 2-story Wells Elementary School. A Primrose School for even younger children is opening in Bridgeland next year.

8. Community focused

From Howl-O-Ween Fest to local farmer markets to Friday Night Bites, there is always a fun community-centered event for the whole family. There are resort-style facilities, including a 6,000-square-foot community center with a full-time activities director who plans year-round events for residents. The community center houses a fitness center as well as multiple classrooms, a full kitchen, and meeting rooms for gatherings and receptions. Parkland Village, the community’s newest addition – will be home to a 25-acre village park, complete with a lazy river and leisure pool, an events hall and lawn, a playground, dog park and much more! Bridgeland’s family-focused master planned community is what makes a house feel like home.
