School's Out for Summer

School’s out for the summer!

Looking for fun things to do? Battle boredom with this epic list of fun things to do in and around Bridgeland.

Kids Yoga

Help your kids stay active and find balance this season by letting them attend summer camp at Shaka Power Yoga. The Kids Yoga Summer Camps at Shaka Power Yoga provide an amazing space for kids to explore movement and breath, as well as a lot of opportunity to learn, have fun, and meet new friends! Shaka Power Yoga’s mission is to teach kids “the value of ohana (family) and live life with much aloha (love) through fun, play and yoga.”

Summer Camps

If you’re looking for a more standard summer camp experience, the YMCA is a great option! And, it’s hosting summer day camps at Bridgeland’s Activity Center. These summer day camps for kids include arts, sports and educational activities to keep your little ones busy. Bridgeland kids can also attend additional summer camps and clinics for soccer and tennis at the Activity Center.

Outdoor Adventure

Summer is the perfect time to explore the great outdoors. And, there are plenty of ways to do it! When you live in Bridgeland, outdoor fun is just around the corner. Canoe at Josey Lake. Observe nature at the birding tower. Go for a walk on House Hahl Trail. Or, relax at the Hammock Park.

Summer Family Events

Grab your family and get ready for some fun-filled events this summer. Bridgeland residents can kick off their summer with an end-of-school summer bash at Lakeland Activity Center! Plus, they’ll enjoy Movies in the Park and Flick and Float at the pool throughout the summer months. For Independence Day this year, everyone can enjoy a big family night out at the Red, Hot and Blue celebration in The Woodlands on July 4. Then, on the second Friday of every month, bring your blankets and lawn chairs out to Lakeland Village Center in Bridgeland for Friday Night Bites.

Lakeland Village Center

For some summer fun close to home, head over to Lakeland Village Center to check out all of the great offerings right in the community. Cool off with some ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery, grab a taco from Chilosos Fresh Mex Kitchen and Cantina, or get pastries for the family at Le Macaron. Opening in early June will be the latest addition to the center – Local Table! Enjoy a variety of farm-to-table menu options or grab a cool drink on the patio. A local hub for shopping, dining and more, Lakeland Village Center is a great place to spend summer days.

With endless opportunities to beat the heat and enjoy those long summer nights, we bet you’ll hear less mentions of boredom and see more smiling faces, making it a summer to remember!
