Bridgeland Is Back to School

In addition to the variety of world-class amenities, another benefit of calling Bridgeland home is the quality onsite schools that serve our students from pre-K through high school. We are reminded of this, especially at this time of year, when backpacks and lunch boxes are toted from home, and children return to school.

Bridgeland schools are among the highest-achieving schools in the Greater Houston area, and if you have children, this is part of the reason our residents choose to move here. Whether your child is taking their first steps toward independence and attending the Primrose school, or in their final year at Bridgeland High School, all students have the opportunity for growth through a range of learning experiences. Kumon and Best Brains, both highly reputable enrichment and tutoring programs, are also easily accessible at Bridgeland’s Lakeland Village Center.

Students are currently served by Cy-Fair ISD and with the addition of Prairieland Village, the third of four planned villages, students will be served by additional highly acclaimed school districts: Katy Independent School District and Waller Independent School District.

Bridgeland has grown quite a bit since its inception in 2006. In fact, construction is well underway in Prairieland Village, and soon we’ll be celebrating our 15-year anniversary! With that growth comes the need for more schools.

Joining the legacy of educational excellence will be Prairieland’s first elementary school. Construction on Bridgeland’s first school to be part of Waller Independent School District will commence soon. Construction has begun on a new elementary school (#57) in Parkland Village. It is expected to open its doors for the start of the 2022-2023 school year to welcome the class of 2035.

Middle school students currently attend Smith Middle School. A new middle school is currently under construction next to Wells Elementary and Bridgeland High School and will complete Bridgeland’s Multi-Educational Campus located off of Mason Rd. This school, Cy-Fair’s 20^th middle school, is financed from a bond that passed in 2019 and is tentatively planned to open for the start of the 2023 school year.

After a day of hard work, your kids will find many outdoor spaces within Bridgeland to unwind from the school day. Kinetic Park may be just the right place to climb and play with friends while walking home from school. Do you live farther down Parkland Common? Stop by Monarch Park, especially in September and October when you’re apt to spot the beautiful orange butterfly as it migrates southward. Or perhaps a bike ride to Kaleidoscope Pointe to swing in a tire swing taking in panoramic views of Josey Lake will do the trick. Play a pick-up game with your friends at one of the basketball courts around the community, or meet your friends at the skate park. And don’t forget to take your dog for a walk and stop in to one of Bridgeland’s three dog parks for a doggy play date, too.

Bridgeland currently offers nearly 60 parks – all with different themes for different age groups – over 70 miles of hike and bike trails, as well as two world-class amenity centers to enjoy after school or on the weekends. As our community continues to grow, so will our strong network of educational offerings and the number of ways to connect with friends and the outdoors. Keep an eye out for notifications about special events like September’s Friday Night Bites, and Nature Fest and the Bridgeland Community Fun Run/Walk for Heroes event, both in October.
