In 2020, Howard Hughes and Bridgeland launched their inaugural scholarship opportunity that coincided with the first graduating class from Bridgeland High School. In 2023, when the expansion of Bridgeland extended into Waller Independent School District, the scholarship program grew to include graduating seniors from both Bridgeland and Waller High Schools. Now in its sixth year, four scholarships of $2,500 each are available to graduates of the class of 2025 – two students from Bridgeland High School and two students from Waller High School – who will be furthering their education in a two- or four-year accredited college or trade school. Participating students in Bridgeland High School and Waller High School are not required to be Bridgeland residents to apply.

Both Bridgeland and Waller High Schools provide students with unparalleled learning experiences, preparation for college, and greater options for exploration of subjects such as architecture, agriculture, robotics, engineering, law, and journalism, just to name a few. These scholarships seek to strengthen educational opportunities beyond high school, allowing students to pursue their dream by relieving some of the costs associated with higher learning. Bridgeland’s scholarship program is an extension of HHCares, the philanthropic initiative of Howard Hughes that volunteers with and supports over 155 causes and organizations within the Houston region every year.

Students will be required to submit an essay and fill out an application and the submission deadline is prior to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, and students must be in good standing with Bridgeland High School or Waller High School. The scholarship selection committee will review all applications, and winners will be announced at their school’s Senior Awards Night in May.

Applications for both schools can be found on the application page of Bridgeland.com. Questions may be directed to the Bridgeland Welcome Center by calling 281-304-5588. We encourage your college-bound senior to apply today.
