Emerald Heights, The Latest Neighborhood Coming to Bridgeland Central
As the vision for Bridgeland Central continues to unfold, you’ll find more variety of home choices, restaurants, retail, and services. Similar to Bridgeland’s four villages, Bridgeland Central will include a variety of home styles and sizes to fit the needs of homebuyers wherever they are in life. Following the successes of Lakeland Heights, Parkland Square and Parkland Row, Emerald Heights in Bridgeland Central will be Bridgeland’s newest Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND).
“Including a TND within Bridgeland Central embraces Bridgeland’s design as a livable, walkable community of well-connected streets and pathways, public spaces and more,” said Jim Carman, President of the Texas Region for Howard Hughes Communities. “Residents living in Emerald Heights will enjoy easy mobility between homes, parks, shopping, dining and other services within Bridgeland Central, including the community’s first office building – One Bridgeland Green. Its proximity to businesses that residents use every day supports connections to the community and the nature that surrounds Emerald Heights.”
Two nationally acclaimed builders, David Weekley Homes and Perry Homes are partnering with Howard Hughes Communities to bring one- and two-story homes that will embrace Scandinavian Modern and Modern Farmhouse architecture to Emerald Heights.
Located off North Bridgeland Lake Parkway and Emerald Enclave Drive, the TND will include 350 homesites. The neighborhood will offer a mix of 35-,42-, and 50-foot homesites.
SCANDINAVIAN MODERN
Scandinavian Modern architecture is characterized by its sleek lines and minimalist design, emphasizing functionality. Key architectural details include the use of natural materials such as wood, stone, and steel, invoking a strong connection to nature and sustainability. The integration of glass, and large, black-framed windows without grids for abundant natural light contributes to a sense of airy openness, while flat facades, symmetry, and a sharp slope roof design enhances the overall aesthetic. Entryways are highlighted with overhanging roofs and architectural elements to add interest. A black or neutral colored pivot door accents the home for a bold and elegant first impression.
MODERN FARMHOUSE
Modern Farmhouse architecture draws inspiration from the charm of a traditional farmhouse, blending it with contemporary design principles. Its clean lines, understated and well-proportioned forms and emphasis on natural materials produce a rustic yet refined appearance.
Subtle yet distinctive aspects set Modern Farmhouse apart from Scandinavian Modern such as entryways which feature covered porches with beams. Roof lines are not as pitched as in Scandinavian Modern, and vertically proportioned windows will feature grid dividers. A monochromatic color palette is offset by the contrasting color of windows, beams and soffit color. Also unique to this style is a painted entry door, featuring an accent color for emphasis.
Traditional Neighborhood Design is rooted in connectivity. Home fronts gently transition into a green esplanade encouraging residents to mingle with neighbors. Nearby is Merry Meadow Park adding shared spaces for community engagement. The park includes a park pavilion with an event lawn, dog park, a large play area with an array of apparatuses for active engagement, and a bocce ball court with lights for nighttime enjoyment. The park also features a bioswale for channeling water during major storm events. Walking paths lead into the trail system and nearby lake, further connecting residents with all of Bridgeland.
The TND neighborhood of Emerald Heights in Bridgeland Central adds another unique home option for homebuyers seeking simplicity with modern flair and easy connections to services and amenities. Presales are now underway and models will begin construction soon. To learn more about available homes in Bridgeland and Bridgeland Central visit Bridgeland.com
