Lily Pad Park In Creekland Village Now Open!
Bridgeland continues to be ranked as one of the best-selling communities in Texas. In 2025, the amenity-rich community ranked third in the state. With a park or green space located within one-quarter mile of every home, it’s one of the reasons residents call Bridgeland home. The list of amenities continues to grow with the addition of Lily Pad Park, the first community space in Creekland Village. Its grand opening took place on March 12, from 1-3 p.m.
It was a perfect way to spend an afternoon during spring break. The grand opening event centered around the theme of the frog in celebration of the amphibian that makes its home in neighboring wetlands. Residents came together to enjoy thoughtfully designed outdoor amenities and activities including: frog-themed crafts, a face painter, a balloon artist, interactive games, a lively stilt walker and a fun-filled scavenger hunt. Complimentary hot dogs and dessert from food trucks completed the celebration.
Lily Pad Park embraces the area topography, sitting at the crescent of the riparian corridor known as Turtle Cove. At nearly 16 acres, the cove plays an important role for stormwater conveyance, as well as serving as a beautiful outdoor amenity and natural habitat for birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles. As its name suggests, the theme of Lily Pad Park, celebrates the wildlife that live in neighboring wetlands. You’ll find the image of the frog displayed in creative ways – from whimsical to statuesque –throughout the park. Keep an eye out for turtles and frogs, and listen for their chorus of croaks whenever you spend time at the park.
The centerpiece of the park is a grand event pavilion. A colorful mural along the front wall invites you to explore what’s beyond. Once inside, scenic views of Turtle Cove are revealed and can be enjoyed from any number of seating areas featured in the pavilion space.
Designed with areas for small or large gatherings, whether you are getting together with friends or having larger family gatherings to celebrate a momentous occasion, the pavilion offers everything you need to make your party successful. Grills, a sink, and a large service counter, picnic tables, ping-pong tables, and bathrooms are available on site. Oversized frog silhouettes within the flooring add bit of whimsy.
Circular platforms, emulating lily pads step down from the pavilion, offering an additional mix of seating for relaxation while overlooking Turtle Cove or gathering with friends for a game of cornhole.
A walking path that’s part of Bridgeland’s greater trail system descends around the cove, offering an idyllic space to take a daily walk. Mass plantings of trees and native plant pallets along the water’s edge help to cleanse stormwater entering the waterway, supporting healthier ecosystems. As you stroll along the trail, you’ll find scenic views at every turn. The path includes a pedestrian bridge, a low water
