Sunfish Park and Splashpad, a Colorful New Addition to Prairieland Village

Providing unique outdoor spaces for residents to engage with each other while spending time in nature is a hallmark of Howard Hughes Communities. In Prairieland Village, the newest outdoor amenity is overflowing with color and fun. Sunfish Park, located on the corner of Upland Meadow Drive and Pocket Prairie Drive will provide hours of fun in the sun for families and friends.

A covered pavilion with picnic tables and moveable Adirondack chairs on a synthetic lawn provide  comfortable spaces in the shade for keeping an eye on children as they stomp in the puddles and splash among interactive spray towers and rainmakers. The splashpad offers multiple spray features in varying heights, making this park a great space for kids of all ages.

Also included in this park is a play area with a synthetic turf fall surface. A climbing structure for bigger kids and spring rockers for younger ones will add additional fun for your active child and more reasons to visit Sunfish Park in Prairieland Village.

Alongside the park is a large reforestation area planted with native trees that are both flood resistant and drought tolerant, helping to buffer the space from nearby homes. Planted with pollinator attracting plants, the park’s gardens are already seeing butterfly and dragonfly activity, as they visit to feast on the young plants’ nectar.

Water fountains with a water bottle refill feature and onsite restrooms are conveniently located near the parking area. Climbing vines along one wall of the rest facility will also provide additional greenery for a calming backdrop to the colorful space.

Sunfish Park is easily walkable from nearby neighborhoods. Bicycle racks are available, providing an alternative for getting to the park.
