Toro District™: A New Era for Bridgeland

A bold new chapter is unfolding in Bridgeland.

The Houston Texans, alongside Howard Hughes Communities™ and Harris County, have announced plans for Toro District™—an 83-acre, transformational sports and entertainment destination in Bridgeland that will redefine what is possible through public-private partnership.

At the heart of Toro District will be a 22-acre, state-of-the-art global headquarters and training complex for the Houston Texans. Spanning more than 175,000 square feet, the new headquarters will bring Football Operations and Business Operations together under one roof and feature an indoor fieldhouse, three outdoor NFL practice fields, and flexible event space designed to host nearly 16,000 attendees. From youth sports and graduations to major NFL events, the facility will serve as a year-round destination for the broader community.

Located within Bridgeland Central, Toro District is projected to generate approximately $34 billion in long-term economic impact and create more than 17,000 jobs across the region over time. Beyond economic growth, the project strengthens access to county services, expands parks and trails, and enhances infrastructure and mobility in one of the fastest-growing corridors in Texas.

What’s Planned for Toro District

In addition to the Texans’ headquarters and athletic complex, Toro District will introduce more than two million square feet of walkable office, healthcare, hospitality, and entertainment space including*:

  • One million square feet of premium office space
  • 300,000 square feet of destination and service retail
  • 250,000 square feet of regional healthcare and sports medicine
  • Two hotels totaling approximately 300 keys
  • 1,300 multifamily residential units
  • Multiple flag football fields
  • Up to 21 volleyball courts
  • 25,000-square-foot Harris County annex
  • Six parks
  • Approximately 5,000 parking spaces

* Based on the development concept plan and subject to refinement as planning and design advance

The district is designed to blend sports, entertainment, business, healthcare, and residential living into a cohesive destination that serves residents, visitors, and employers alike.

The new headquarters and athletic complex will significantly expand training capabilities while unlocking new opportunities for youth programming, community engagement, and educational partnerships. Students from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Waller ISD, and Lone Star College will have access to internships and career pathway programs, while workforce development initiatives will support local hiring and skilled trades training. Expanded parks, trails, and a future on-site Community Services Center will further enhance quality of life for Northwest Houston residents.

Toro District will also complement nearby major employers, including the future Chevron research and development campus, positioning Bridgeland as a premier destination for business, innovation, and civic life. This project represents more than a headquarters. It is a long-term investment in the future of Bridgeland and the greater Houston region.

Gensler, a global architecture and design firm, is leading the master planning design for Toro District, while Howard Hughes Communities manages leasing for the development, which is scheduled for completion in 2029.
