Bridgeland Reaches New Milestone As #9 In The Nation

Homebuyers are recognizing the value in this Cypress, Texas, master planned community (MPC) that continuously innovates ways for residents to interact with their surroundings. Home sales in 2020 reached an all-time high for Bridgeland, which is now listed as the ninth best-selling MPC in the nation by RCLCO Real Estate Advisors and John Burns Real Estate Consulting. These leading industry advisors release annual reports on total new home sales for the top 50 MPCs in the country. Bridgeland has the honor of being named the only Texas community listed within the top 10 on the trusted analysts’ reports released just last week.

This formula helped Bridgeland improve its ranking on RCLCOs mid-year report from last year, when the community held the #10 spot. Another property in the Howard Hughes portfolio to make the list is Summerlin. This property located in Las Vegas, Nevada, garnered the number three spot and is the only Nevada community listed in the top five.

The start of 2020 brought COVID-19, quarantine restrictions and an economic slowdown. As a testament to the community’s exceptional quality of amenities and a focus on health and wellness, Bridgeland achieved record-breaking sales in May, June, and July – despite the pandemic – or perhaps, because of it, as buyers were seeking communities that offered ample outdoor amenities.

Creative thinking on the part of marketing departments and real estate agents led to safe alternatives to showcase homes. This coupled with lower interest rates allowed Bridgeland to finish 2020 with a total of 873 homes sold, representing an 18% increase over the prior year. Credit also goes to the exceptional developers, engineers, builders and Realtors that work to make Bridgeland a wonderful place to live and do business.

Since first homesites were sold in 2006, the ongoing focus for the community has been masterful design and excellence. Bridgeland offers a unique lifestyle with 3,000 acres of open space that includes 400 acres of parks, 900 acres of lakes and 250 miles of trails throughout the community. Incorporating nature and amenities for a healthier lifestyle attracted more homebuyers as the global pandemic and quarantine orders restricted a large portion of indoor activities.

Bridgeland is seeing success across the spectrum of offerings, from the Traditional Neighborhood in Parkland Square to custom homes in Sheldon Lake, and a new multifamily option, Starling at Bridgeland, now under construction.

Experiencing tremendous momentum year after year, the community is home to roughly 15,000 residents, from all 50 states and 11 countries. At buildout, the community will eventually grow to 65,000. Construction on the third of four villages is underway and the first homesites will be available later this year. Prairieland Village will add approximately 6,700 additional homes to the growing community.
