The opportunity for quality education is a top priority for parents when moving with school-aged children. Providing students with strong academic instruction and educational programs that will set them up for success is a priority for us, as well. With the construction of Waller ISD’s first elementary school in Bridgeland, we’re adding to our growing list of excellent scholastic options.

“Premier learning opportunities are among the distinguishing characteristics of a true master planned community,” said Steve Sams, Senior Vice President, MPC Residential for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “Waller ISD is an excellent educational partner, and their community-oriented approach and dedication to personalized learning through smaller class environments is second to none. Top-rated and diverse educational offerings will remain a focal point as we continue to expand our growing community.”

While the elementary school in Prairieland is not yet named, the school will be modeled after Waller’s successful Herman T. Jones Elementary School where students’ individual learning styles are supported and numerous enrichment programs are offered for all types of learners. The school’s interior design calls for ample natural light through clerestory windows with plenty of collaboration spaces throughout. These spaces will give students opportunities to explore different perspectives, supporting higher-level thinking through shared ideas, improved oral communication and leadership skills. Nurturing both mind and body, the school will offer an ADA-compliant playground for all students to enjoy.

“We are excited to begin construction of our new elementary school in Bridgeland and look forward to serving the community for years to come,” said Kevin Moran, Superintendent for Waller ISD. “We plan to open our doors to the first group of smiling students in August 2024.”

Last year, Waller ISD purchased an additional 19-acre parcel of land in Prairieland for its second elementary school in Bridgeland. As one of the fastest growing school districts in the Greater Houston area, Waller ISD provides smaller class sizes, lower student-teacher ratios, individualized instruction, and a number of educational and enrichment opportunities to pre-school and school age children, as well as a wide variety of adult education programs to the community.

Offering a variety of educational opportunities, Bridgeland currently has a total of seven existing and planned public schools. At build out, children living in Bridgeland will attend schools in the three surrounding school districts of Cy-Fair ISD, Waller ISD and Katy ISD. In addition, three early childhood education providers – Primrose Schools and The Goddard School are currently open and Kids R Kids is slated to open in Bridgeland in 2024.

Located at 10330 Prairieland Crossing, the 112,000-square-foot Waller elementary school campus will serve 750 students living in Prairieland Village and Creekland Village and is slated to open for the 2024-2025 school year.
