Harmony Public Schools Coming to Bridgeland
One of the most important boxes to check for new homebuyers is the quality of education available in the community. Luckily there are many options for families looking to purchase a home in Bridgeland as another educational campus, eventually serving pre-K through grade 12, is planned for the sought-after community. A 29-acre parcel of land at the intersection of Grand Parkway and Creekland Village Drive was recently acquired by Harmony Public Schools, the charter school known for offering robust STEM, college and career preparedness programs.
“Quality education is among the top motivators for homebuyers, especially those in Bridgeland,” said Steve Sams, Senior Vice President, MPC Residential at The Howard Hughes Corporation. “Howard Hughes understands the value of providing best-in-class educational options that are both accessible and diverse, a similar approach we take to our residential offerings. Through Harmony Public Schools, we will introduce the master planned community’s first charter school.”
The campus in Bridgeland will be part of Harmony’s Houston North District joining a system of 60 other charter schools in the state of Texas. Since 2000, their innovative teaching methods continue to bring out the full potential in every student. The school’s many accolades that include a college acceptance rate of 100% are proof that they are succeeding in their mission to prepare students for college and career through a student-centered educational program with a strong emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Homebuyers will be pleased to know that Harmony Public Schools have been highly rated by the Texas Education Agency, and most recently, U.S. News & World Report named all 23 Harmony public high schools among its top high schools in America. Harmony Charter schools have also been recognized by Newsweek, as well as the national nonprofit organization GreatSchools for its superior academics, college preparedness and STEM program. Additionally, three North District campuses have been recognized as National Schools of Character from Character.org, a nationwide non-profit dedicated to promoting character in schools.
“For more than 20 years, Harmony has been providing high-quality, family-focused educational opportunities to students across Greater Houston,” said Fatih Ay, CEO of Harmony Public Schools. “We are proud to continue that important work as a part of the Bridgeland community and look forward to hosting our inaugural class of Harmony scholars soon.”
From highly rated public schools to top-notch private schools and now a charter school, Bridgeland continues to make education a key component for the growing Cypress community. The first phase of Harmony School of Bridgeland is slated for completion ahead of the 2025-2026 school year and will initially serve 450 students from pre-kindergarten to second grade and sixth grade. A second building serving middle and high schoolers is anticipated to be unveiled for the 2026-2027 school year.
