The groundbreaking of 70-acre Village Green at Bridgeland Central took place on February 26, a significant milestone for Bridgeland Central, the 925-acre emerging urban district located in the heart of our community. The initial segment of Village Green spans 23 acres and will feature an H-E-B grocery store with over 100,000 square feet that is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Additionally, 28,000 square feet of space will be dedicated to retail and restaurants and is slated for completion in spring 2025. A variety of businesses have shown significant interest, and Howard Hughes anticipates announcing the lineup soon. Given the enthusiasm for the initial phase of Village Green, we are currently in the planning stages for the next 47 acres of Village Green.
“Today marks an important step in Bridgeland Central becoming a dynamic urban district and regional employment hub for all of Northwest Houston,” said Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region for Howard Hughes. “The overall size and scale of Bridgeland Central is unrivaled in the region and poised to meet the growing demand for businesses seeking a sustainable environment in which to thrive, while also providing an exceptional and coveted live, work and play lifestyle.”
Our community experienced record growth in 2023, selling 985 homes and ranked in the top-five selling communities in the nation by RCLCO, a first for Bridgeland since inception. The influx of new residents and the increasing number of homes on the west side of Grand Parkway have attracted the attention of businesses, indicating that Bridgeland is poised for commercial expansion, aligning with the vision for Bridgeland Central. This development is particularly significant given Chevron U.S.A. Inc. recently acquired 77 acres in Bridgeland Central, soldifying the status of Bridgeland as a premier destination to live and work.
Our community is interconnected by a network of trails that lead to lakes, parks and playgrounds. Soon, these paths will link to the 925-acre Bridgeland Central. Village Green will deliver a blend of premier national brands as well as a curated mix of homegrown local and Texas brands. Located adjacent to Grand Parkway and bound by Bridgeland High School Drive, Bridgeland Creek Parkway and Summit Point Crossing, it will be walkable for many neighborhoods in Bridgeland.
