The Howard Hughes Corporation seeks to uplift lives in and around the master planned communities they build. Whether through masterful design to elevate lifestyles, or through donations to charities as part of the HHCares program, The Howard Hughes Corporation and its employees are committed to community-focused philanthropy, including financial donations, civic engagement and volunteerism. At this time of year, through the annual Fall Giving Drive, The Howard Hughes Corporation will continue the tradition, donating to area charities when buyers purchase a new home in Bridgeland or The Woodlands Hills.

“Our annual Fall Giving Drive exemplifies the commitment of our HHCares program supporting nonprofit organizations that are transforming lives in the areas surrounding our communities,” said Steve Sams, Senior Vice President of MPC Residential for The Howard Hughes Corporation.

For each new home sold at one of these award-winning communities during the month of September, $500 will be donated to one of the following charities on behalf of the buyer: Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, Montgomery County Food Bank, and Yes to Youth. The Howard Hughes Corporation seeks to raise more than last year’s donations, which totaled $85,000, setting a lofty goal to give to these worthy causes.

The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) has been providing scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors as well as funding for staff development for over 50 years, fulfilling their mission to empower today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders through higher education. The Montgomery County Food Bank served 9.6 million meals to fight hunger in Montgomery County in 2021. Envisioning communities where everyone has access to nutritional food, they engage with a network of pantries, school districts, mobile markets and partner organizations so they can also distribute fresh fruits and vegetables as well as non-grocery items. YES to YOUTH – Montgomery County Youth Services  has been helping individuals, groups and families through mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention since 1980. Striving to help begin the healing process, they also provide safe and nurturing housing for the abused, sex-trafficked, homeless, and at-risk youth.

The HHCares corporate social responsibility program is the philanthropic arm of the company. Focusing on making a positive impact in and around the communities where they build, the company volunteers and donates to over 180 charitable causes in the Houston region annually. Employees regularly volunteer with a variety of local charities, highlighting the benefits they bring to the community-at-large, so that others may learn about their services or get involved, too.

Just as in prior years, homebuilder partners have also joined our effort in supporting the annual fundraiser. This year, contributions to the Fall Giving Drive made by Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, M/I Homes, Taylor Morrison and Westin Homes will be split between the charities positively impacting many within our region.

The annual Fall Giving Drive exemplifies the commitment of the HHCares program to support local nonprofit organizations that provide needed services to our community. We encourage continued giving and volunteerism in our region, not just during the Fall Giving Drive, but at all times of the year.
