Can a tiger change its stripes? Is a zebra black with white stripes or white with black stripes? You’ll find the answers to many of your animal questions at Bridgeland’s 15th annual Nature Fest. This year’s event happens on Saturday, May 6th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bridgeland’s Oak Meadow Park. Mark your calendars for a fun-filled day of extraordinary animals, exhibits and entertainment.

Bridgeland’s focus is providing opportunities for people to engage with the outdoors and Nature Fest is a fun and action-packed way to learn about some of the striking and unusual animals that inhabit our world and some of the conservation efforts that are taking place to help them. Headlining this year’s event is nationally renowned wildlife expert Jeff Musial. With three stage shows taking place throughout the day, he’ll captivate nature and animal lovers of all ages with his vast knowledge of exotic animals, unique blend of information and comedic style.

“Nature Fest offers our guests an opportunity to learn from some of the world’s most sought-after wildlife experts and have face time with animals they wouldn’t typically have access to,” said Lona Shipp, Director of Residential Marketing for Bridgeland. “Jeff Musial shares our commitment to environmental stewardship, and we are excited to have him as this year’s headliner. Nature Fest attendees are sure to enjoy his vast knowledge of the animal kingdom and fun personality.”

From catching garter snakes and frogs as a child to working in a pet shop and studying zoology in college, then opening Nickle City Reptiles and Exotics, an animal sanctuary where he has rescued thousands of rare animals, Musial’s passion for wildlife has made him a household name in the animal world. His name may be familiar from his appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show and Animal Planet. He’ll share his breadth of knowledge and vibrant personality so that we can better understand some of the world’s unique creatures. You can follow him on social media and find fun facts about animals on his website.

The day will be filled with a variety of stage performances and plenty of activities to keep everyone in the family informed and entertained. In addition to Wild About Animals with Jeff Musial, guests will enjoy performances from Crocodile Encounter, Texas Snakes, Wildlife Revealed – Bird Demonstration, and a magic show by Jungle Jack. Children will enjoy the Inflatable Zone, outdoor laser tag, face painting, balloon art, kids’ craft area, pony rides and a petting zoo. Nature exhibitors, roaming street performers and nearly 20 food trucks and vendors will also be present at the event.

Admission to Nature Fest is free, but a few activities will require a small fee. All proceeds from these activities will be donated to Cy-Hope, a local organization dedicated to bringing hope and opportunity to every child in the Cy-Fair area. Activity ticket booths, vendors and food trucks will be able to accept cash or credit cards. Please be advised that on-site ATMs will not be available.
