The start of the new year was anything but slow for Bridgeland, The Howard Hughes Corporation’s best-selling master planned community (MPC) in Houston and in Texas. Despite an economic slowdown at the beginning of the second quarter due to the COVID 19 pandemic and its sweeping impact on industries across the globe, Bridgeland experienced unprecedented growth beginning in May, and continues to see sales increase over the respective timeframe in 2019.
As a result of record-breaking sales, Bridgeland now ranks within the top 10 best-selling master planned communities in the nation according to a recently released mid-year report from RCLCO, a real estate consultant who reports on national industry trends. Moving up from 12th place from year-end 2019, Bridgeland had a record breaking 425 new home sales in the first half of 2020, reflecting a 21% increase in home sales over the same period last year.
High performing schools, unmatched amenities, award-winning parks, and a commitment to integrating the natural landscape into community design collectively make for a winning formula for growth. The concept of living well with nature is appealing to many buyers, and as we are now staying closer to home, Bridgeland residents can find an ample array of activities to enjoy throughout the community.
Because residents are offered so many options for getting out and exploring nature, working and schooling from home is a little easier when you have the entire community to use as your own backyard. Whether you are kayaking, fishing, or bird watching along Josey Lake, or biking, hiking, or exploring trails that lead to neighborhood parks, splash pads and pools, there are a multitude of ways to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.
WE’RE GETTING BIGGER AND BETTER
Prairieland Village, Bridgeland’s third of four villages is expected to come online next year. Prairieland will join Lakeland Village and Parkland Village and will expand the community’s boundaries west of Grand Parkway. The expansion will continue to offer families unparalleled amenities providing value and a quality lifestyle.
Being more connected has taken on an additional meaning since the ‘Stay Home, Work Safe’ order was introduced. By using technology, we’re connecting with interested homebuyers in new ways. By virtually touring model homes and even picking out homesites on our newly created web tool for the neighborhood of Parkland Square, we’re helping potential homebuyers recognize the value of their investment when buying a home – and a way of life – in Bridgeland.
Ranking No. 10 in the nation is an accomplishment Bridgeland and The Howard Hughes Corporation are proud of. Understanding the importance of being outside, now more than ever, has helped to make Bridgeland a highly sought after community and will continue to add to its success.
