Bridgeland was named Master Planned Community of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) last week at The Nationals awards gala. After a year of record-breaking sales and ranking the 5th best-selling community in the nation, Bridgeland continues to add to its growing list of accolades from industry leaders.

“We are extremely honored for Bridgeland to be recognized as Master Planned Community of the Year by national industry leaders at NAHB,” said Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region for Howard Hughes. “The community has been uniquely positioned to emerge as both a dynamic residential and commercial hub for all of Northwest Houston and we look forward to watching how Bridgeland continues to evolve for decades to come.”

Since 1982, NAHB awards builders, remodelers, developers and other home building professionals for outstanding achievements each year at The Nationals. Bridgeland also received the Gold Award for its Landscape Design. Working to create communities where people and nature thrive, Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. continues to bridge development with sustainability within its portfolio of master planned communities. Sustainable landscaping provides habitats for native wildlife and blends with parkscapes and natural materials creating picturesque views at every turn. Bridgeland is consistently recognized for its measures to protect, restore and revive surrounding ecosystems, all while curating a lifestyle rich in amenities, better than it has been done before.

More than a park and a pool, Bridgeland offers abundant one-of-a-kind amenities. Hike or bike along more than 100 current miles of trails to the birding tower, treehouse park, or any of more than 70 themed play parks, some with ADA compliant structures and many with custom-designed elements. Walk through several tree-lined and canopied trails or around any of our lakes that thread through the community.

Bridgeland Pedestrian Bridge

Soon the trails will connect you to 925-acre Bridgeland Central. As the epicenter of four villages and near Grand Parkway, Bridgeland Central will be an expansive urban district for shopping, dining, office, medical, hospitality and entertainment. An additional benefit will be employment opportunities that will come with businesses and retail. The goal is to provide 1.5 jobs for every household in Bridgeland.

The community recently broke ground on the first phase of highly anticipated Village Green at Bridgeland Central, a 70-acre mixed-use project located within Bridgeland Central, including the community’s first H-E-B grocery store slated to open by the end of this year. The first phase of Village Green will include 28,000 acres of restaurants and retail and is slated for completion in 2025. The expansion of Bridgeland Central will help to meet the demands of our growing community, now at 22,000 and projected to reach nearly 70,000.

Bridgeland joins the Howard Hughes community of The Woodlands in playing an integral role in shaping the urban landscape of the Houston region and state of Texas—which continue to be among the most desired locations for domestic migration and corporate relocation. The Woodlands, a 28,500-acre, forested master planned community which is continuously recognized a thriving business environment and one of the best places to live in the country, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024.

Residents can expect a continued commitment to design excellence and inspired visions for sustainability – all the things that make our community the best in the nation – and the reason so many choose to call Bridgeland home.
