The ceremonial groundbreaking of the new location of Cypress Christian School (CCS) in Bridgeland took place on February 23, 2024. In attendance were members of the staff and the board of directors, various community members, and an elementary student and a high school junior who led everyone in prayer.
“We are not only here today to celebrate groundbreaking, we are also here to recognize that there has never been a greater need in our nation for what will be happening under the roof of this building and out on the fields of this campus,” said Mike Slabic, chairman of the CCS board of directors in a recent post by Community Impact. “Increasing the scope and impact of Christian leadership in our community and our country through an academically rigorous and Christ-focused education experience is what we believe this new campus will do.”
The plan for the school to relocate to Bridgeland’s Prairieland Village began in 2021. The 130,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will service 1,000 students from kindergarten through grade 12 and more than 100 staff members. CCS is regarded as one of the top private educational institutions in the state of Texas and in the nation. Known for providing college preparatory education rooted in excellence and biblical values, award-winning fine arts programs, and championship athletics, the Prairieland location will feature expanded educational facilities, increased athletic amenities, a new, fine arts building and ample parking.
Their website reveals a 13:1 student-to-teacher ratio for honors and AP classes. The school boasts a 100% graduate acceptance rate to colleges and universities. The curriculum also includes STEM and an AP Capstone program. Last year, CCS Warriors were the Texas Association of Private & Parochial Schools (TAPPS) state champs in: lady softball, golf, dance, and track & field, and baseball. Varsity cheer and CCS’s performance in a one-act play earned them state runner-up.
For nearly 18 years, Bridgeland has been providing exceptional educational options as more families choose to make Bridgeland their home. Recently named the Master Planned Community of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders, it’s a key factor for families that helps drive our success.
CCS will be a welcome addition to the number of academic offerings available to Bridgeland residents.
