Over the course of two weekends, May 14 -15, and May 21-22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the award-winning community of Bridgeland will celebrate the grand opening of our newest addition, Prairieland Village, located on the west side of Grand Parkway. We welcome the public with family-friendly festivities as we turn our backyard into an outdoor classroom filled with opportunities to explore, learn and have fun.

Both weekends provide opportunities to tour model homes to see the most current design trends from some of Houston’s top home builders. To sweeten the deal for those looking to purchase a new home in Prairieland, between May 1 and May 31, Bridgeland and its builders are offering up to $10,000* in incentives. You’ll find these stylishly decorated homes in our new model home park located in Prairieland Village at 10703 Monarch Butterfly Drive.

A special guest joins the schedule on May 21. Journalist and author Florence Williams, whose work focuses on the environment, health and science, will lead a Nature Immersion Experience exploring the vast natural offerings that surround Josey Lake. Lasting approximately one hour, the tour begins at 9:30 a.m. at 19312 Bridgeland Creek Parkway. Every family that attends will receive an autographed copy of her latest book, The Nature Fix, while supplies last.
At 12:15 p.m. on May 21, Williams will speak on stage about the physical and mental health benefits that one can experience when spending time in nature. Afterward, guests will have the opportunity to buy an autographed copy of one of her books.
A complimentary lunch will be catered by local favorites throughout weekend activities for those who register through Eventbrite. Cypress Trail Hideout will provide lunch the first weekend, and the Burger Ranch serves up the second weekend.
As an added bonus, guests who visit a minimum of four model homes will be entered to win family annual passes to the Houston Museum of Nature Science.
The grand opening of Prairieland Village is two full weekends of activities, learning and showcasing how living here can enrich the everyday.
