Here’s Why I Love Bridgeland

Houston’s population is growing fast. The city has so much to offer, and is a desirable city to relocate to. I often get asked, for advice on where to live in Houston. Having lived in Houston for almost 5 years, I’m always happy to share some of my own personal insight.

Recently, I had the opportunity to host a Mom/Babe fun day in Bridgeland in a model home by Ravenna Homes. It was a great way to bring some of my friends together and learn more about the Bridgeland master planned community while having a good time decorating sweet treats.

SWEET TREATS

To get into the holiday spirit, the gals at Iced Cupcakery -taught us how to decorate holiday cupcakes three different ways. Everyone laughed and couldn’t resist the yummy icing. We even got to sample Iced Cupcakery’s holiday pumpkin roll, AND they are sharing the recipe with all of you! It’s a perfect recipe to make this season.

Moving to Cypress, TX

BRIDGELAND’S MASTER PLANNED COMMUNITY

The best part of the day was being able to experience the Bridgeland neighborhood and what truly sets it apart from any other master planned community, Houston has to offer. I realized that it is not only a great option for families, but also for empty nesters too. Wanted to share some of what I thought would be helpful to anyone considering relocating to Houston or looking for new homes for sale in Cypress, TX.

Watch the fun we had in Bridgeland here!

LOCATION

If you know anything about Houston, you know it’s HUGE. The city spans out for 655 square miles, and location is a top factor when deciding on where to live here. Being able to access main highways quickly is important. The Bridgeland community offers easy access to highways 99 and 290, allowing you the ability to live in suburbia, but also get into the city in approx… 35 mins.

NATURE

It’s no secret that Houston is sometimes known as the “concrete jungle”- NOT Bridgeland! This master planned community is situated on 11,500 acres. 3,000 of those acres are parkstrails, and lakes. There are 900 acres of lakes and waterways. 60 miles of trails! If you love being active outdoors this is definitely the place for you. It’s a nature lovers dream to live here.

This Cypress, TX  master planned community has a ton of amenities- heated pools, splash pads, dog parks, hammock park (yup, you read that correctly, a whole park with hammocks!), playground-style zip line and an incredible tree house. It even has a boat house where you can check-out kayaks to use on the lake OR store your own! The kids had a blast running around and burning off their sugar rush at the park.

EVENTS

There are a ton of Bridgeland neighborhood events to help bring the community together. You won’t have to travel far from home to have a good time. My family and I have attended Friday Night Bites,- which is a super fun family event. Tons of food trucks and a fun way to meet other families in the area.

Speaking of food, here’s the recipe for the pumpkin roll.

This was certainly a great day with my friends and their children. Thank you to Bridgeland for being such incredible hosts and allowing me the opportunity to learn more about the community so that I could share with my readers.
