Transforming Lives With the Fall Giving Drive

Hearing the term fall conjures up images of harvest bounties, cooler weather and gratefulness for the prior year. The Howard Hughes Corporation is pleased to announce another successful Fall Giving Drive. It ran through the month of September and is part of the company’s HHCares social responsibility program. HHCares focuses on making a positive impact in and around the master planned communities we build through community-focused philanthropy, including financial donations, civic engagement and volunteerism with over 180 charitable causes in the Houston region.

Committed to supporting local nonprofit organizations, this year’s Fall Giving Drive raised nearly $45,000 for three area charities:  Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, Montgomery County Food Bank, and Yes to Youth. For every new home sold in Bridgeland and The Woodlands Hills from September 1 through September 30, a $500 donation was made to one of the three charities on behalf of the buyers. Several homebuilder partners also participated in the drive, providing additional support and helping us reach this notable donation. Participants included Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, M/I Homes, Taylor Morrison and Westin Homes.

The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) provides scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors as well as funding for staff development. The Montgomery County Food Bank engages with a network of pantries, school districts, mobile markets and partner organizations to fight hunger in Montgomery County. YES to YOUTH – Montgomery County Youth Services provides safe and nurturing housing for the abused, sex-trafficked, homeless, and at-risk youth and helps begin the healing process by providing counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention.

Showing appreciation of our local nonprofits helps bring awareness to the meaningful work they do so that others can get involved by making donations of time, treasure or talent. We’ve listed just three of many organizations striving to uplift lives in our area. Many others exist and would also welcome your participation.

The annual Fall Giving Drive exemplifies the commitment of the HHCares program supporting local nonprofit organizations that provide needed services to our community. Donations like this help to make a positive impact on these organizations so they can have a more significant impact on those in need. For that, we are grateful.
