Take a moment to paws during your day for a little playful romp in Prairieland’s newest park. Bring your four-legged pal as this amenity is for the dogs. Happy Tails Dog Park in Prairieland Village is located adjacent to the Red Admiral neighborhood and is sure to be your pup’s favorite new park!

With temperatures beginning to drop, everyone wants to be outside, especially your dog. And lucky for your pooch, Happy Tails Dog Park is now open so Fergie can fetch and sniff or have a zoomie in a safe and open space designed especially for man’s best friend.

The park features dedicated areas for small and large dogs. You’ll notice the different sizes of paw prints imbedded in the walkway that lead to the entry gate. Larger prints lead to the entrance for large dogs where they can romp and roughhouse in their own section, while small paw prints lead to a separate space for dogs 20 pounds and under.

A double-gated entry helps to corral pets safely as you transition to inside the park where a blue color palette pays homage to a dog’s ability to see the color blue. Moveable blue Adirondack chairs are available so owners can socialize with each other while keeping an eye on Elvis. Trees offer shade in the playing field while a covered pavilion offers shade over the azure picnic tables. A decorative wall in a different shade of blue with paw print cut outs adds a bit of whimsy to the already fun space.

For convenience and courtesy, a pet waste pick-up station is positioned right near the door, so you can pick up after Pongo, and toss the bag as you head out of the park.

A watering station sits just outside the park for both thirsty pets and their humans.

Gardens and a bioswale adorn the perimeter of the park. Planted with black-eyed Susans, red muhly grass and yellow lantana, and with the blue elements from the dog park as a backdrop, it’s a colorful cornucopia continuing Prairieland’s theme of being painted by nature.

The walkway connects to Bridgeland’s 250 miles of hiking and biking paths that lead to award winning amenities like Chrysalis Lake and Longwing Landing Amenity Center in Prairieland Village. Residents have access to numerous outdoor spaces like Happy Tails Dog Park for community gatherings and rejuvenation. Take a few moments to pause with your four-legged family member at Happy Tails Dog Park. Nothing says they’re happy, better than a wagging tail.
